Ce melong est réalisé de manière traditionnelle avec 3 points dans chacune des 4 directions. Il possède une boucle en haut pour permettre de le porter avec une chaîne ou un cordon. Melong en tibétain signifie miroir ou miroir. Le melong est un symbole polyvalent, un attribut divin et une qualité du courant mental éclairé ou bodhicitta.
