This tiny thangka Buddha locket pendant is perfect for wearing or using in a small portable shrine. The gorgeous beautifully designed frame is made of metal and the front is glass. The back is embellished with a double dorje. It includes a miniature printed thangka of Buddha Shakyamuni and the frame opens (as can be seen in the photo) to add additional mantras or images or blessed substances. It has a small loop on the top so a necklace or cord can be added if it were to be worn. This locket is truly a unique item.
Buddha Shakyamuni is the 4th ,and current, Buddha of this Fortunate Aeon. The Indian prince Gautama Siddhartha, reached enlightenment (and thus became a buddha) in the sixth century B.C. under the Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya India. Buddha Shakyamuni taught the path of enlightenment that is followed by millions all over the world.
