Peruvian Myrrh has an otherworldly fragrance that is somewhat reminiscent of myrrh but holds with in its aroma something that belongs to the mysteries of the night or the subconscious. It is has a warm and earthy perfume like quality that is hard to put a finger on. It is a lovely resin. This resin can be used on charcoal or in an incense heater.

Things can get quite confusing in the world of common plant names. The resin of Styrax weberbaueri is not a member of the Burseraceae like two other famous plants that produce aromatic resin, Frankincense and Myrrh, but from the family that brings us Benzoin; the Styracaceae.
