This Opoponax resin, or commonly, sweet myrrh, comes from Kenya. It is extracted similarly to frankincense and myrrh. Prized in perfumery, it is also known as scented myrrh, perfumed myrrh or perfumed bdellium.
This particular Opoponax has a very beautiful warm sweet balsamic scent when burned on an incense heater however, burning it on a charcoal will work quite nicely too. It is already in small pieces, and ready to put on your burner.
INGREDIENTS: Commpihora guidottii resin

A beautiful resin with an amazing fragrance. Sweet, balsamic, earthy, almost reminiscent of licorice :)
Second order from this shop. Excellent quality, lovely fragrance. Very satisfied!
Took me a minute to review just because it took a while to decipher the scent. The scent is very "perfume-y" which sounds vague, but once you smell it, you'll get it. Lightly floral, with the same bitter base notes as normal myrrh. Almost a little bit of a buttery/creamy note as well. It's definitely "sweet" in smell as well. It's very nice, and quite comforting as a scent. Will definitely be getting more. If you're using it in incense, make sure to make the pieces quite small or they might "popcorn" up and not release as much of the scent, I've noticed.
