Acacia senegal has an extremely long and storied history of traditional use by many peoples from the tropical regions of the old world. Acacia gum or Gum Arabic was a traditional binder for making mineral paints and used in a wide variety of traditional medicines.
It is commonly used as a binder in making incense and considered a psychic magnifier and protective agent for the user when burned either by itself or with frankincense, myrrh, or sandalwood. Our Acacia Senegal resin comes in beautiful orange lumps that can be broken easily in a mortar and pestle for blending with other gums and powders.

Were I using this for incense the large chunks would have been perfect for burning for a long period of time. The resin is beautiful and pure and smells so good. Even got a tiny sample of another resin that I like even more! As I'm using this product for medieval scroll use on vellum and need to powder the resin, the large chunks are a bit more work to have to shatter without the pieces going everywhere so I do wish I'd thought to request as many tiny pieces as possible. But will certainly buy from this seller again!
