This grand sang incense chimney is made of ceramic with a beautiful blue glaze and metallic gold imprints. It has takdröl imprinted on the bottom of the inner cup and 6 mantras around the outside of the chimney top. It is made with 3 parts including a base, cup insert for the offerings, and chimney top. Takdröl imprinted papers and our Tibetan sang cones are included with each purchase.
There are a couple of ways you can use this chimney.
1st - Start with a base of ash or sand in the bottom of the inner cup and then place a charcoal on the ash/sand and light it. When hot, spoon incense powder on top to make offerings.
2nd - Start with a base of ash or sand and putting down some powdered incense and then a few cones. Light the cones and then spoon some incense powder on top to make offerings. The cones act sort of like a charcoal in that they burn a while so they will ignite your powdered incense.
It is not recommended to light a small fire (with small twigs) in this type of burner because it could cause the ceramic to crack. This type of burner is small and compact and a convenient way to make offerings, for example, if you wanted to do Riwo Sangcho daily.
